Follonica is at the center of the gulf of the same name, between Piombino and Punta Ala, with the island of Elba in front of it.
It has become an important and modern touristic seaside resort where you can practice different sea sports and enjoy a pleasant night life for children and grown-ups. There are a lot of itineraries within the Mediterranean shrub where you can walk, cycle and horse ride: to visit the Maremma is to be in contact with the nature.
The town has been awarded with the Blue Flag because of the quality of life and of the sea water since 1999.
